Have you ever gotten a postcard, a birthday card, a DVD, anything in the mail from me?

Maybe a “congrats on LOAD” gift? Or a little chocolate?

If so, I’m asking for your help… I’m a contestant in an “innovative marketing” contest. Would you please pop over here and check out my entry:

http://www.firepolemarketing.com/blog/

It’s the one entitled “Marketing with Chocolates and Birthday Cards.” If you could Facebook “Like” it, tweet it, or leave a comment, I would so appreciate it. We are judged on the interaction with the audience, so each tweet and retweet counts!

Thank you so much!

P.S. If you haven’t EVER gotten anything from me, something is seriously wrong. Email me at lain@layoutaday.com with your address and the subject line “Where’s the Love?” I’ll make sure you’re taken care of. :)

Frankly we are all super-stars for even thinking of taking this on. Whether you did one layout or 31 (or more!) you decided to carve out a moment of me-time & craft your memories into wonderful layout(s).

But it was great, wasn’t it? Great to be here together, making art & preserving our memories, burning the midnight oil to post on time, saying “yes” to creating over some of the other demands of life – if only for this brief space of time…

Thank you so much to those of you who provided prompts, and especially our featured guest stars for allowing us to get to know them a little bit better. 76 party girls and we posted over 800 layouts so far!

If you would like to today, post a wrap-up page. It’s always fun to have a snap of the pile of goodness you created this month. Or use your favorite prompt inspiration, lift your favorite ScrapSista, scrap your favorite vacation, whatever fave is inspiring you today!

Love ya! See ya in the gallery at the next ScrapHappy challenge. I will post our randomly chosen LOADster super-star winner tomorrow. :~)

Surprise for our digi-sisters!

Heather’s treasures has created a custom PSE template for us! Due to my lack of techno geekiness you will need to send me a Flickr email (LCSmithSAVED) and give your regular email addy so I can send it to you as an attachment that you can download into PSE (at least I think this is the easiest way to do this…)

Here is what it looks like:

For glue/paper/scissors scrappers just use it as a page map! And if you are in the middle of your 2 pager from yesterday, no worries! Lots of options today :~)

Please TAG your layout PSE in the gallery.

This was the first two-pager of Cathy’s that I faved.

Lots of photos, told her story, carefully chosen details – pure genius!

Our prompt for the weekend came from Cathy herself – a double page LO with multiple photos.

“I have lots of LOs for inspiration, since I recently took the Double Take class at BPC. Just an idea. Since we are close to the finish line they might not be too enthused about a double pager. :)   Cathy”

Well, let’s break it down & do a page a day this weekend! Post your start for Saturday (can be one of the pages or both in progress) and Sunday show us the finished 2 page layout. MAKE SURE to check out “cateshomegrown” gallery for inspiration.

Guest Star cateshomegrown!

I was born and raised in Minnesota. I moved to the west coast over 30 years ago and currently live in Northern California with my husband Michael. We will be celebrating our 10th anniversary this year, but have been together for over 16 years. I do not have children of my own, but I do have two grown step kids. We live in a community called Sleepy Hollow. The name fits it perfectly. There is a lot of wildlife all around us. I swim three days a week and go to a boot camp style class twice a week. I am not working right now, by choice, which leaves me lots of time for my favorite pastime – scrapbooking. I also take many, many classes at BPC and rarely miss a LOAD. I bought a few rubber stamps about 18 years ago. I started making my own greeting cards and now friends and family expect only homemade cards from me. I fought the scrapbooking craze at first, but how could I resist all the amazing products that started appearing in the stores. It was not long before I was hooked.

Here’s the link to get a closer look:

I am not sure how I would describe my scrapbook style. I take many nature and travel photos. My nature photos usually end up on single photo/page LOs, which are mostly emotional type pages or pages where I want to tell a story.  I take numerous travel photos on a single trip, so those are used on two page LOs using many photos. I really like my photos to stand out so I always ink the edges and mat the photo or sand the edges of the photo. I like to scrap about the everyday things in my life. My favorite subjects are my nieces and nephew. I only see them twice a year, so I always have my camera with me when they are around.

Many scrapbookers have inspired me. Three stand out – Cathy Zielske for her design savvy. The rule of thirds is a big one and is always in the back of my mind when creating pages. Ali Edwards inspires me to create meaningful pages and to tell the stories of my life. Lastly, Nic Howard inspires me to add layers and clusters. I love her beautiful style and I love dimension on my LOs. I think one of my strongest assets in regards to scrapbooking is my use of color. I love color and feel I have a good eye for it. Most of my pages are filled with color and patterned paper. Most important I love to scrap. I am so glad I found this hobby.

Another good one from JanaPedo:

Scrap a nature picture. She used this, “The wilderness holds answers to more questions than we yet know how to ask.” Nancy Newhall
