When we were looking for a home in Perth we had a few things on our list: * Not too far north (We couldn't afford anything south of Warwick Rd) *Close to the train * A backyard for children to play in After looking at a lot of houses we would have needed to renovate, Phill spotted a block for sale in Woodvale. I knew plenty of people living in Woodvale when I was young and it always seemed like an aspirational suburb to me. I grew up in the north/east: Embleton, Ballajura, Alexander Heights, Helena Valley and Lansdale. Thanks to a good valuation on our home in Hannans, Kalgoorlie (800kms away!) we were able to buy and begin building in 2011. Though Timberlane Drive is busier than my ideal street, we got several unexpected bonuses with this location: * A brand new home and fun of building (I love it!) * Walking distance to the train * Walking distance to the shops * Walking distance to the library * Walking distance to three parks * Close to Church * Close to the beach * Close to the pool * The tallest Marri tree in Perth :) If we ever need to move, it will be hard to find a spot more perfect! I am thankful every time I turn down our street.
